'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'unstoppable force' Arsenal are the squad everyone fears.

There's little doubt why Arsenal are now countless pundits' preferred choice to win the Premier League in the current campaign.

Consider their results against West Ham and Crystal Palace versus those equivalent matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have overcome all of them during this campaign, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race in the prior campaign.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's backline resilience is a primary factor why they are appearing strong to ultimately achieve their title goal.

They rank top for unbreached games (6), shots let in (3), shots faced (72), quality opportunities against (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the strongest in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Expertise

Their threat from set-pieces is well known, but opposition teams still struggle to contain the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just fearful of them and it is excellent to see."

Championship Credentials

What is even more impressive about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still ahead by four points at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their traditional rivals are struggling. This marks the first time at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on boss Mikel Arteta at the outset, having spent around £250m on eight summer signings in pursuit of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far paid off in impressive fashion, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Over six hours without conceding a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across various contests

Former players and analysts have described Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now functioning with confidence and resolve.
