Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise started the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group enter areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which characters will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
